Continuing Education for Midwives and Midwifery Educators

The Association of Midwifery Educators is pleased to offer online continuing education courses for midwives and educators through the user-friendly platform Digital Chalk.

These courses have been approved by the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council (MEAC) for continuing education for Certified Professional Midwives. Midwifery educators may use these courses to satisfy state Department of Education professional development requirements for the educational institution’s instructors in compliance with school licensing regulations. Midwives who are licensed, registered or certified in a state, province or other jurisdiction may contact their individual midwifery regulatory agency to find out how to apply their certificate(s) toward their continuing education requirements.

Continuing education requirements may be specified in hours or units. Each hour equals 0.1 (1/10th) continuing education unit or CEU. 3 CEUs is 30 hours. The continuing education certificate you earn from each of these courses will list both hours and CEUs.

The AME Continuing Education Course Catalog offerings include the Preceptor as Educator series and webinars on various topics of interest. Go here to log into Digital Chalk and browse our catalog of available continuing education courses.
